A baby seems to have done this first! [link]
if you think of a cradle as (=) then where the = thing is you
could have two soft foot pedals that when the baby presses
them they mechanically power the rocking motion. There is
also the possibility that they could activate electrical
motorized
rocking assist.
The baby gets to rock itself as much as it wants!
A baby cleverly rocks itself using its feet.

The baby could be encouraged to pedal by means of painful electric shocks. |

This certainly beats my notion of having a squall-
powered baby rocker. The crying noise activates a
motor to rock the crib, slowing down when the baby
stops crying. Your way will build muscle too. [+] |

[whatrock] your proposal seems designed to train the baby to cry. The baby wants the soothing rocking motion, and will soon learn that this is activated by crying. |

Yet another benefit of painful electric shocks; a simple microphone and comparator to trigger the system, and ZAP ! |

You haven't, by chance, ever applied to the

Yes, but oddly all our applications for research grants have been declined, for no obvious reason. |
