Say you want to sell on ebay. You need a paypal
account, which in turn means you need a credit card.
What if you don't want one or can't have one.
Same problem if you want to buy at Amazon.
Here's where nocredit.com kicks in.
You give nocredit.com the website you want to fill in.
It
[edit] scrapes (sorry, had th instead of p, it was an
undelifarate mistale), the site, and shows you a form
with all the
credentials. If there is a captcha it takes a screenshot
and shows you the image. You fill in the captcha on
the
nocredit.com and it relays it on.
If there is a username password, for that website, you
give it to nocredit.com (storing it in an encrypted
file,
and using it directly without any human intervention).
It then supplies a valid credit card number to the
underlying form and all the credentials supplied
except a
nocredit owned email address .
It also relays all email from the website to your real
email.
You can receive the money through your friend's
credit
card, via a check in the mail or any other way you
wish
with a small fee removed from the money
transferred.
Or just save it for next time. NoCredit cannot use the
money and actually have no access to it. They don't
even know how much money there is in that account.
Your the only one who has access to this money. The
only know about the money when you claim it,
because
they receive the fee off that pay.
You approve of any transaction with a double check
via your email (just like password recovery).
So its not a banking system and it wouldn't need to be
regulated.
NoCredit actually own only a few credit cards, and
relay them to multiple users. It works only with a list
of well known and reputed websites, so that their
own real credit cards are not stolen.
That's all folks.

Kind-of Baked by "pre-pay" cards. Buy a card
for a small fee, then don't load any credit
onto it; it is, however, a "real", valid card.

Do prepaid Visas and such actually work like credit cards? Could I use one to rent a car or a hotel where they want a credit card as a "safety deposit"? |

I'm pretty sure you can open a PayPal account with
just a bank account, no credit card required. I'm
also pretty sure you just described PayPal in this
idea. |

Scrapes was probably the intended word. |
|
|
Also, no mention of debit cards? |
|
|
Yep. Look up web scraping for more info. |

I see all kinds of opportunities for fraud. Where do I
sign up? |
|
|
OK its baked. I didn't know about visa electron and
paypal. |
|
|
Also h tixed the sqelling mistale. |

I set up my PayPal account with my debit card, which leads
me to believe it would be possible to do so simply by
showing proof of a bank account, i.e. via a voided check. |

Yes. I have a Visa Gift Card that was given to me by my
father-in-law last xmas. It originally had $50 on it, but I
discovered that I can 'reload' it from my bank account by
calling the number on the back and pressing '0' until the
machine gives up in frustration and connects me to a real
person. It's an interesting way to pay with a credit card
and yet not have my name directly associated with the
purchase, since credit union records are only (legally)
available to the government, and only by subpeona. |

Okay, here's my numb-- hey, wait a second... |
|
|
It's okay, if you type in your credit card number, it
automatically converts to stars, like so: **** **** ****
**** |
|
|
Also, the same thing with your password. Check it

This sounds like a function which could be served by Mastercard to me. |

I'm scratching my head here. My standard issue bank cashcard is a Visa debit card: functionally identical to a credit card, except you have no credit, only the funds in your account. Is this not a widely known to exist thing? |

Money laundering's a waste of time unless you have
it pressed as well. |
