I need to be able to adjust my mornings. Sometimes my alarm goes off for work, but the bed is too warm and comfortable to leave. Other times I have a Saturday to sleep in, but the mattress feels so cold and hard I can't sleep.
I want a mattress that will work with my alarm clock (or similar alarm mechanism
created solely for use with the mattress) that I can program at night to give me the conditions of my chosing the following morning. I can set it for extra-snuggly for weekend mornings, and the mattress will soften up and produce a bit of warmth for me to enjoy. Weekday mornings I can be greeted not only with a blaring alarm, but also a rock-hard, nearing-ice-cold mattress. We'll see how many times I hit the snooze button then.
For couples, I imagine the mattress could be divided into separately-controled halves.
Alarm Mattress

I'm so lazy these days that what I need is a bedframe that conspires with my alarm clock to throw me out of bed. Maybe one of those adjustable beds, with a jazzed-up motor... |
