kitchen-spats
Protect your feet from dropped knives in the kitchen | |
Spats (like for the tops of shoes) made out of thick leather or some other tough material that you can quickly slide on when you go into the kitchen, regardless of whatever else you're wearing on your feet. The spats protect your feet from dropped knives. If this sounds too special-purpose to you, you
haven't cooked with me.

Nice! (and welcome to the Halfbakery!). Wooden or cork spats would allow the knives to stick in, for easy retrieval |

Have you considered adding to your counter- top an ornamental knife block in the shape of a human foot? A dark polished hardwood might be suitable. If anyone asked, you could say it was Ozymandias. |

It would remind you to protect your actual feet every time you took out a knife. |

Well this idea is simply a point well taken. |

A very timely post for me, as I had a very near miss earlier this evening! |

New enough purpose for this kind of protector, and something that can actually be baked[+] These protectors do exist, you've only given them a new purpose [-] Welcome! Always happy to see a new face. |

They would have to match the colour of my addon cup. |

Great idea, certainly easier than making the entire countertop magnetic. |

As a person who tries to get his foot under a dropped knife in order to save the knife from floor impact, I approve. |
