At most hospitals there is an insane regime to wake, wash, feed, treat the patients at their earliest convenience, at least well before 9am
I would like a snooze sticker, similar to you see on airlines. Instead of "nil by mouth" it would proclaim, "do not awake before noon".
The body is the
best healer so why not let it do its thing. I don't function until later in the day, as the saying goes, the early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.

Hmm? I haven't flown a lot, and only on <relatively> short domestic flights. Is this something for long ones? Like 'wake me at my stop'? |
|
|
There is some truth to 'that's when they're available to do it', but waking someone up at 2am to give them something to help them sleep is still kind of dumb. <This happened to me as a kid, when I had my tonsils out.> |

on long distance flights some airlines offer a "do not wake me for a meal"
sticker , especially for overnight flights. |

I've since been told that most modern hospitals are based on designs by the military. Even if you were half dead you were expected to be wide eyed and bushy tailed for inspection. Later the officers were replaced by the doctor doing the 'rounds'. So basically you have to look good for the doctor! |

I remember the nurses in the hospital would wake me up to give me a sleeping pill...D'oh!! |
|
|
Just write "Patient is Not To Be Given Any Sleeping Pills" (in scribbled penmanship, to impersonate your doctor) -- then tape to your chart. |
|
|
Certain medications must be given on a strict hourly regimen, so this wouldn't work for all patients. |

But I say if Johnny Headwound wants to sleep, and if there are no medical requirements for dressing his severe cranial lacerations at 10 am rather than 6 am, then let the dude get his rest. |

Nurse! Bread! Stat! Other silly hospital term! Stat-er! |

Add a 2nd sign: "Please ask my relatives to wait 15
minutes before waking me." |
|

You know they are going to wake you up. (They think
they are busy and have things to do. ) A small victory
is all you can hope for. |
