I hate under wire bras. But I need the support. What ever made a man use wire for support?? Thier hands make a perfect support so why not make the support for the bras in the shape of hands. Wide enough and placed just right for the lift and support needed.

Bras, bras, bras. http://www.economis...cfm?Story_ID=437012
More on the state of the art in brassieres. Includes a note on the Bioform, another bra "based on the principles of a car airbag" and more, from the only magazine that thinks to ask: Does a surge in bra sales foreshadow an economic downturn? [Monkfish, Nov 29 2000, last modified Oct 17 2004]

Bioform http://www.bioform.co.uk/
Ah! Now the Bioform has its own web site. [hippo, Jan 17 2002, last modified Oct 17 2004]

(?) Like this? http://www.veryfunn...nder/images/bra.jpg
I have no clue where this came from. Honestly it came up on my idea and I think someone may have gotten confused [PollyNo9, Oct 17 2004]

Along the same lines -can I please sign up then for the first pair of underwire mens underpants.

Think how flattering to new lovers when you switch to a bra molded from their hands; how disturbing when they realize that you still have an old flame's model at the back of your drawer.

The Ove Arup press release does not make me want to buy the bra. When designing underwear, they should not be principally concerned with the stress on the *garment*.
hello_c, Nov 30 2000

Yup - Ove Arup have a very Engineering perspective on it.
I also realise now that the 'Interactive Bra' link I posted was not quite what [pss_10] intended - a bra in the shape of hands, not actual hands as a bra...
hippo, Dec 01 2000

I'm arguing that that's a *bad* engineering perspective, where bad:engineering::evil:overlord. It means a confusion of ends, no matter the mastery of means.

Not ONE of you has considered what hand shaped bras would do to the PROFILE... can you imagine ... instead of peaches and peanuts you've got ridges? i don't think so :)
valkyroo, Aug 18 2001

Peaches I can see, but 'peanuts'?
StarChaser, Aug 19 2001

I think the peanuts are taken in combination with the peaches, rather than as an alternative.
-alx, Aug 19 2001

Ah, so desu. I was having <unpleasant> visions of things that looked like cantalopes...
StarChaser, Aug 20 2001

Why not create and market CELEBRITY Hand Bras? Casts could be made of the hand impressions at Hollywood's Walk of Fame, and could be used to model cups based on the hands of Tom Cruise, Elvis Presley, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the like.
Guncrazy, Nov 20 2001

I think I'd be quite alarmed to see the set of breast that required a Jeremy Beadle bra. Ugh. Oh sorry, *erk*.
mcscotland, Jan 17 2002

The solution to all of these brassiere problems is quite obvious. Retractable breasts.
waugsqueke, Jan 17 2002

       What's a Jeremy Beadle?
StarChaser, Jan 19 2002

       He's an irritating little Englishman.
Helium, Jan 19 2002

and he has only four digits on one of his hands but I don't know how relevant that would be
po, Jan 19 2002

I'm against bras in all forms, but I wouldn't mind holding up a pair as a living.
harp1369, Apr 27 2002

Yay!! What about one that vibrates/sqeezes??!!
isla, May 24 2002

       Edward Scissorhands.

Ok ,I have seen a picture of a hand bra, sent via e-mail, no sourse to follow to find it.it would make a fun conversation piece to be worn at such events as biker rally's, now how do i find one?
GMAN1961, Dec 21 2002

Good project. I'd gladly to lend a hand.
rowlycat, Dec 22 2002

Yeah? Well, you'd lose it, bucko.
bristolz, Nov 18 2004

I try this with my girlfriend on a regular basis, she keeps saying things like "150 Yards" and "restraining order." I'm never really sure what she's prattling on about.
shapu, Nov 04 2005

<pss_10> my hands are available for hire.
etherman, Nov 04 2005

Hopefully these are some kind of warm-able rubber or something. The idea of voluntarily putting cold hands on... brrr.
PollyNo9, Nov 04 2005

I was hoping this would be some sort of hand-hammock. Somewhere to put your hands when you've got nothing else to do with them...

Idle hands are the Devil's playground, but you can rest easy with your demonically shielded hand-bra.
Salmon Of Doubt, Nov 05 2005

Funny to see, one of the hands missing a finger. Your man it a working man.
