A mouse which requires dramatic, exaggerated movements of the arms, legs, and head to operate. Sort of a cross between an airport ground traffic controller and fending off a gorilla. A "Dance Dance Revolution" version could be marketed to the youth.
Tai Chi UI

And a pen to be used in conjunction with a 9' x 6' tablet. |

You could even have fights over the control of the mouse. |

I see definate fitness benefits to this. Combine it with a giant keyboard that takes all your strength and both hands to push a button. Dramatic cut in productivity with a corresponding cut in percentage body fat. |

I never saw "Minority Report", but I'm assuming it involves only the arms. This is a full-body workout, and it's much more complicated than just push-and-drag: you have to nudge, coax, force, kick, and twist your way across the screen. |

A similar idea was suggested many, many moons ago, but I haven't been able to find it. I don't think it specified the use of a mouse, but it did cover the idea of full body motions to operate a user interface. Anybody else remember that? |

Direct the cursor with a combination of gestures, whistles and calls, like a sheepdog. |

Could the mouse be designed to scurry for cover as soon as you take your hand off it? |

I like. Fun if you're really bored.
An easy and cheap way would be to cat one in mud, and reduce the sensitivity to the minimum level possible. |

Why would an invention created to make life HARDER make any money? Let's face it, people are lazy, and they want everything easier, faster, and if at all possible, they don't want to have to think to do/use the product. Noone would want a mouse that you had to dance around to activate. Now, if it were along the lines of snap the fingers on your left hand = left click, snap the fingers on your right hand = right click, the mouse could follow your eyes and other such non-energy requiring movements, then you'd have a "get yourself a patent lawyer" idea. |

[Friendlyfire], what about an onscreen miniature sheepdog that would sort of "herd" the mouse into going where you want it to go and clicking where you want it to click. The Sheepdog would be controlled by you ofcourse. |
