One of the worst thing about travelling on buses, apart from chavs, is vandalism. Even when it is repaired it looks awful. Our local company usually just uses duck tape to fix slashes in the seats. What if a fabric was made out of random rectangles of hardwaring fabric stitched together so that they
overlapped creating a pseudo random pattern. If the seat gets slashed another patch or patches could be sewn over the top of the slash no one would be any the wiser.
The only drawback is our companies colour scheme, of pink, purple, white and blue, which looks bad enough as it is would be truly vomit inducing in a random patch work!

Derogatory term for, usually (though not exclusively) youthful, working-class people with a tendency to adorn themselves in sportswear and cheap jewellery. |

Some claim that "Chav" stands for "Council Housed And Violent", but it probably derives from "Chavi", the Romany word for child. |
