You noticed how phone earbuds seems to have better bass reproduction, if pressed against the ear?
(thats why you see audio enthusiast on the go pressing it on the train. Or of course they could just get a 400 dollar headphone)
Why not have a simple headband that wraps around you head, that applies
adjustable pressure on the ear buds to ensure best bass reproduction for only a few dollars.

It looks less dorky. You don't wanna look dorky do you? |
Or... the headphone types that wrap around your ear could channel the bass through the structure and into the base of your ear. |

It would be better[*] to have small, high-quality loudspeakers surgically implanted into your ear, ideally firmly anchored to your skull to improve the bass response. You could then plug in the lead from your iPod, phone or walkman into 3.5mm sockets just under your ears.
[*] probably not actually better |

Why headphones, [hippo]? Better to tap into the auditory nerve direct I woukl dthink |

Go straight to the auditory cortex. |

You probably could pop a pill to make you as happy as you get listening to that music. |
come on [21] how dorky are you? |
Yeah, who needs an actual headband? The red elastic bands the postmen drop on their rounds work for me. |
you must have a tiny head. |

I'm pretty sure duct tape could solve this problem. |
