(in a winter coat or heavy sweatshirt)

1) tissue pocket, for discreetly keeping tissues in when you have a cold, zipper inside the handwarmer pouch. lined with plastic. generously sized but not bulky.

2) handwarmer pouch, fuzzy inside. goes straight through across the belly of the coat, one hand goes in each end. many coats already have this, but sometimes the inside is not sufficiently fuzzy. faux fur.

3) key pocket. on the inside of the right cuff. zippers shut. contains 5 small key rings on strong elastic leashes like the elastic used for hair. so you can pull out your key and open the door while keeping it attatched to the pocket.

4) valuables pocket. on the interior of the left side of the coat. for keeping money and cards when not carrying a handbag.

5) cell phone pocket. adjacent to the valuables pocket, fits a small phone, zippers shut and is lined with waterproof nylon or soft plastic like the tissue pocket.

db247: These are all Baked in off-the-rack clothing, though not necessarily all on the same coat. Customized coats are also Baked. Where's the idea?

bliss: you want me to show you?

my problem being, make these mainstream, i don't *wear* cargo pants and i don't have as many $$ as most of you to go tossing aroung paying for custom coats. in reply to the "where's the idea?" of course, if anyone around here has enough extra cash clinking around in the pockets of these custom coats of theirs they're welcome to buy me
dingbats247, Aug 15 2002

Ah, perhaps you should wear cargo pants. They have a distinct advantage over a coat made of pockets. You can wear them indoors. Either that or get yourself a handbag.
DrBob, Aug 15 2002

Can't wear 'em at work. Which leads me to want to invent the Cargo Suit, complete with extra pockets in the sides of jackets for storing all your shady valuables and stolen watches.

I love the idea of a key pocket. That would be very useful. Usually i keep my wallet, keys, phone and so on, in my trouser pockets though, so i can take my coat on and off, and my items are always within easy reach. That's why i'm not so sure this is a great idea ...
