There's a lot of noise these days about growing organs from stem cells. But I think there is a much more universal application for similar technology: why not simply grow muscle tissue from stem cells and sell it as meat.

If you can overcome the minor (I'm sure) technical issues involved, you can have meat without cruelty, possibly grow it more efficiently, using less energy and emitting less methane. Think about it, the possibilities are endless: two pounds of hummingbird, the taste of endangered species like Amazon Dolphin, hybrids like white rhino - tarentula. All without killing anything.

I suggest that you read up a bit on the mechanism by which organs are grown from stem-cells. You can't just dump a few stem-cells in a beaker, wait six weeks and pick out a nice fillet steak. Where do you think the new tissue comes from?

Yet another way of producing bland, cardboard like food, as if intensive farming wasn't bad enough.

Could this method be used to grow skeleton tissue, like fishbones?

Reminds me of the cow thing in HHGTTG, the one that wants to be eaten.

They're doing a remake of the movie, by the way. I will definitely go see it.
