The next run of Big Brother should have an extra element involved.

All contestants should be continuously dosed (in their food, water etc) with a substance which will cause them to always tell the truth and say what they are really thinking.

It probably wouldn't change anything for the first few days, but it would make things a lot more interesting once they all start getting on each others nerves.

Instead of seeing boring pictures all night of people tossing and turning in bed, you'd see frightened people peeking above the bedclothes waiting for the revenge of their fellow contestant who is upset about the less-than-upbeat assessment of their bodily-hygiene made earlier.

Alternatively you could register your disapproval of unimaginative programmers and self-involved participants by watching something else.

Instead of giving us the opportunity to vote people out of the Big Brother house, they should let us decide exactly how the makers of this pure drivel should be punished for the error of their ways: Options range from a simple sacking right up to being hung, drawn and quartered. And will someone please tell the Sun that Helen is actually one of the most ugly, irritating people I have ever had the displeasure of seeing on my TV screen and is definitely not front page material.

Yeah, I don't really like Big Brother.

I've never watched any of the shows of this ilk - just seen commercials - that was more than enough.

PS: That's how ratings work. If no-one watches the show it gets voted off the air by the audience. Alas the audiences keep voting for the show by watching it. Those of you who watch the show and then complain about how awful it is have only themselves to blame.

Big brother is crap!!! I was in the UK briefly as I am currently ex-pat and I saw one episode of the second series and it needs to be banned from our screens. It is boooorrrrrrrrinnnnngg. You know it would be more interesting if they wired up a student house, but I think that one has been baked. If you want to watch that crap go and hide in your basement with your sock puppet. Then after the series is over go spy on your neighbours. (Monkey boy 2 does not support or endorse spying on your neighbours).
