battery backpack for electric skateboard

put the battery on your back, not on the board

Electric skateboards are limited by the battery. A small battery gives low power/range, a big battery makes the skateboard heavy. I propose that the battery be carried in a backpack. In this way the un-sprung mass of the skateboard is kept to a minimum. The backpack could be low profile shape worn under the clothing.

Flexible cables worn in or underneath the clothing take the power from the battery backpack to electrodes on the soles of the rider's shoes (left shoe negative, right shoe positive). The skateboard also has large electrodes at the front and back where the rider stands to complete the circuit. The skateboard would also have a bank of supercapacitors that would continue to power the motors if/when the shoes briefly stop making contact with the skateboard.

Great idea. If there is an injury at the skate park the shoes can be used as a defibrillator.

And it can be easily and swiftly recharged, simply by stepping onto live electric railway lines.

Remember [hippo] Right Foot Forward. If you step on the 3rd rail with your left foot you may damage the battery pack.
