The original idea for ths comes from an annotation by [bigsleep] in another post <link> and is presented with permission.
A vegetable steamer made from woven wicker or bamboo, reinforced where necessary with corrosion-resistant metal wire, in the shape of a miniature Celtic/Pagan "Wicker Man".
Comes
with a suitably shaped enclosure for stovetop use, shaped and decorated to resemble an Iron Age burial mound such as Newgrange.
To use, place the base of the enclosure on the stove and add water to the line. Prepare the vegetables and insert into the head and body of the Wicker Man. Place the Man on the support above the boiling water, and cover with the lid; vents in the lid allow steam to escape, producing an entertaining screaming sound reminiscent of agony and suffering. The vegetables are evil and must be destroyed. They must be made to suffer.
After an appropriate cooking time, open the lid, lift out the Man, extract the cooked vegetables and discard immediately. Who wants to eat vegetables? Horrible poisonous muck.
Use the boiling water to make a pot of tea, so as not to waste anything useful.

All I can think of is "Burning Man" Am I supposed to be thinking
about that and nothing else? Is that the point??? |
No [bliss], like this <link> kinda like a mash up of guy fawkes
& dutch nesting dolls, a giant wicker effigy with the real man
inside, then you burn it. |
This is a smaller novelty item only good for steaming
vegetable. |
Unless
you know some really small men? |
In what sense "small men" ...? |
// only good for steaming vegetable // |
... but still big enough to take a kitten ... |

OMG [Skewed], that drawing of Wicker man looks just like
something they would parade around at Burning Man. Just
like. Now I feel vindicated. Ha. |
Watch the movie <link>, and feel not so much vindicated as disturbed.... |

"Wicker" can refer to the physical construction of the Man- using woven sticks- but also to the religion which espouses its use. "Wicca" is the root of the English word "Witch". |
My daughter's a witch, I know of the Wiccan Religion. |
Yes, since witches are matrilineal that makes perfect sense. |

On this occasion, justified. You may award yourself a Bronze Star. Take one from the box and stick it under your name on the Class Award Chart. Best if you take a circuitous route round the classroom to avoid [Voice], as the smell of stale urine is remarkably strong today. |
