Zuzu's Petals

You see, George, you really have had a wonderful life.

A small pink satin rose petal, with a tiny memory chip and bluetooth transmitter embedded within.

When placed next to (or stuck to the side of) another bluetooth device, it would transmit the wonderful things that have happened in your life.

Having a bad day? Stick Zuzu's Petal to the side of your PC, and a picture of your daughter might burst onto the screen. Or a picture of your best friend, age 9. Or your first pet.

Fuming in rush hour traffic? Stick Zuzu's Petal on your phone, and you'll be able to hear your mum laughing, or your girlfriends soft sighs.

As well as looking pretty, Zuzu's petal serves to reassure you that your life hasn't been erased by God (or Clarence) just because a work colleague momentarily forgets your name.

It would be horrifying to lose it, and pick up someone else's by mistake.

[waugs] you never struck me as the type who would leave his petal lying around willy nilly.
Fishrat, Dec 09 2003

Who names their daughter Zuzu anyways? +
k_sra, Dec 09 2003

I might ... but then again I think chin tattoos are a cool idea

Pry your eyes from the tube, [humanbeanie]. Life gets a little better.

// I hate that freaking piece of cinematic vomit, //

Well don't fucking watch it then. See, that was easy.

Wasn't Zuzu the name of the demon in The Exorcist?
waugsqueke, Dec 09 2003

<italian nick>Hey look, [humanbean], we serve hard ideas in here for men who want to get sharp fast and we don't need any characters around to give the joint atmosphere. Is that clear or do I have to slip you my left for a convincer? That's it, out you go, through the door or out the window. <Ringing the cash register repeatedly> Get me! I'm givin' out wings! </in>

I happened to watch the History Channel tonight and they had a segment on what is named "Zuzu's Petals". This allows you to document parts of your life on petals and wear them around your neck, or plug them into a central "tree". You can upload pictures or sound or text. The episode was "Modern Marvels - Digi-tech"

Sounds like this is now totally baked. [-]

       You're making it up!

That is why I included the episode name. Want a link to purchase the video?

Yes please, I think I need a Zuzu's petal. So, if anyone's forgotten to get me a christmas present....

What if your daughter croaks, and your wife leaves? Then you stick the lousy petal on the screen and the picture of them comes up. Then you go shoot yourself, that's what.

       excuse me.

//What if your daughter croaks, and your wife leaves?// Hey, there's only so much a petal can do, flower.

This flower of power makes men dour and women sour. I cower at this hour at a tower of flowers, and vow..errrr, never to wow her.

//What if your daughter croaks, and your wife leaves?//

If your daughter's a frog, and your wife's a tree, you'll have more to worry about than some dinky petal

I think they make pills for that these days

FYI, it's also the name of a qenuinely cool little gift store, plant shop and art gallery in the Lower Haight of San Francisco. Well worth a visit if you're looking for the colorful, tasteful, off-the-beaten path shopping experience. http://www.zpetals.com/

Isn't Lower Haight a huge hippie community?
MikeOxbig, Jan 10 2006

I love that movie! (Okay, granted the star-trekked God vs. Clarence conversation at the beginning is a little odd).

This is a sweet idea. I'm sure if you became sick of whatever image that you loaded into your petal you could change them at will.

       Bun!
