Animals get the basics of playing an instrument, monkey see monkey do literally. They can make random noise on many different instruments they just don't make music which requires playing specific notes.

To fix that, each instrument has an autotune feature so that any note the animal plays will be moved to the nearest correct note in a song sequence that all instruments are hooked up to via Wi-Fi.

So they'll actually be triggering the notes, those notes are just moved into the right key as the song progresses and although the rhythms will be random, they'll be within the correct keys for the song.

Be interesting to see if an otter playing a harpsacord for instance prompted the chimps in the next enclosure to play their digital sax, or the raccoons to pluck their auto-tuned banjo. Also be interesting to see what particular musical compositions prompted the most animals to join in.

And as 2 Fries pointed out, the whale's performance groups would be "Orcastras".

Occurred to me you could do the same thing for a room full of preschoolers. Hand these out and you've got an orchestra made up of 3 year olds.

On the animal and plant underground root network (using mushroom mycelia) there is a similar idea, only the other way around, getting people to chirp correctly, conveying truly needed info for connecting the world, rather than just personal whims, and coordinated tones in a stringent permanent and uninteresting rhythm.

This would be cool with whale song. You could call it an Orcastra.

       D'ho!

       How did I miss that?

       Correction made.
