Why not link a radar gun to one of those lighted traffic signs to let one know how fast triffic is moving ahead. Would work great for forcasting ruch hour traffic and contruction zone speeds.

       Of course, if you do this with a radar gun, the radar gun detectors in the cars in front of you will pick up on _that_, causing the drivers to slow down to the speed limit. Mumble ... stupid quantum effects ...

       I've seen signs on the side of the road reading 'You are traveling at <foo> MPH'. Even reasonably accurate, if there's only one car going by...It gets all kinds of confused if there's a bunch of cars, though...
