In this game show format, contestants are shown a single player's name against the credit background it originally had in the movie.
The odds of a contestant naming the movie are minimal upon seeing only the player's name and its associated film credit screenshot. To improve a contestant's chances,
the host would read (for fewer points in the joypot) the year of the film, the season of the film's release, and the name of the player in the film.
A bonus round could be the show's finalé, and could break a tie round or provide the clear winner an opportunity to beat all odds and win a star-quality grand prize.
Maybe I just can't figure movies at all, but I'd watch this without a single clue as to where these folk get their information.

What I'm getting, I think, is a suggestion for a game show in which contestants must name a movie based on the visual clue of an actor's name as it was shown in the credits of that movie (and if I'm right so far, presumably you mean the opening credits [for those movies that have them], since the closing credits would generally be indistinguishable from one another). So, a sample round might show a single frame of Dustin Hoffman's name against a certain background image, and the contestant could then identify the film as "Rain Man." Is this it? |

Where you say "single player's name," it almost sounds like you're talking about another contestant on the game show, which would suggest that you want contestants to guess only movies in which other contestants have starred, but that can't be right. |
