Y2K & Failed Doomsday Memorial

Past instances in which paranoia creeps over the national consciousness go largely ignored. It's a sad thought that largely unfounded widespread public panics like Y2K and other instances, such as Anthrax scare, that were disproven have been stricken from the pages of history.

These idiotic myths need to have their rightful place in history cemented. As a reminder for the future we as a society need to memorialize these instances of public lunacy so they may be prevented should they ever arise again.

Walking into the Memorial you will be greeted by sculptures of panic-stricken people needlessly hoarding supplies and video loops of news footage of supposed "experts" explaining why the world is going to come to an end because of the 'digital clock resetting'.

When you walk past the Y2K wing you will enter the "anthrax" room, where a video of Colin Powell holding a bag of anthrax in front of congress will be looped and projected onto the wall. Beside it will be a tribute to those who suffocated by plastic wrap in their basements in an attempt to 'seal away the anthrax.' The walls will have news reports of the AVA (anthrax vaccine) sales reports (which were high) and a framed report of the 2003 'Anthrax vaccine declared safe and effective' followed by a government issued block on the 'vaccination initiative' a year later.
