Used cardboard can be sliced lengthwise (along the channels) into one inch strips and tightly woven into a strong packing material. With the loose ends fixed with glue, woven cardboard would be given a second life as an inexpensive, environment-friendly fiber product.

For woven paper, yes--it's used extensively for wallpaper, and braided paper is used for chairs. There is mention of (handmade) woven cardboard, but I don't see any commercial manufacturers of it, (and I'd doubt that there would be). |
