Worldshaker
Youtube algorithm that coordinates ad times | |
This Youtube system combines an algorithm for timing
advertisements during viral dance videos with a world
wide seismic measurement system. So during say for
instance Harlem shake videos, if you click on one, the
system would make you wait longer until a lot of other
people clicked on a similar
video and then when the
system had enough members the video would go in some
kind of coordinated way so that many people all over the
world at known locations would be dancing in time and
then the system would take seismic measurements and try
to increase the energy stored in the world vibrating system. This
system could give you a share of the proceeds from the additional
advertising seconds you accepted. Also a recipe for destruction.

I'm giving this my bun of approval, but I have no idea why. |
Or maybe the folks from ImprovEverywhere could pull this off with one of their MP3 events. |

This part reads like schizophrenic ramblings. |
I am giving this 1 Billion buns. [see link] There has been a movement called 1 Billion Rising where people all over the world dance to bring about Peace. This could help!!! |
//This part reads like schizophrenic ramblings// |
Uh, no. It's not the best sentence but it's far from schizophrenic. It seems [JHC] uses the freedom of the halfbakery to make wacky conceptualizations, like "world vibrating system". |
//people all over the world dance to bring about Peace// |
I've always preferred to laugh at the impossibility of world
peace. I try to laugh at everything that would otherwise
make me angry or sad. |
I'm not laughing at the impossibility of world peace. I'm
laughing at the juxtaposition of two things that have no
corelation. The actors are basically innocents. Dancing
can have no possible effect on the very serious world
issues that states are up in arms about. What's dancing
compared to elite computer hacking using advanced
technology, global economic strategism, and
psychological warfare. There's a horrendous world
history of colonialism, genocide, mass murder, and
cultural imperialism and that's just scratching the
surface. The west has produced a generally stupid trend
of global social movements for peace, that doesn't fool
any eastern rulers as a way of freezing global politics in
an advantageous globalized western system. These types
of mass social movements as a broader strategy only
undermine democracy worldwide as foriegn rulers have
to restrict access to information and disregard the
opinions of their own people because massive western
musical campaigns have people joining hands and singing
about peace, when the asceticisms of really stupid
western religions underly economic behaviourisms, that
spread the ethea of protestant pragmatics and catholic
social structure. |

I feel sorry for people who don't believe in metaphysical miracles. I'll keep dancing for all of you......... |
These are Kantian, end in itself, social movements. If
there are supposed to be metaphysical miracles, why
dance at all? Girls just want to dance around and imagine
the world is changing around them. I'm going to sit in
chairs and lie on soft bedding and wait for the metaphyscs
to work itself out. Or else wait for some clear means-ends. |
// Girls just want to dance around and imagine the world
is changing around them. // |
That's because it is changing around them, and they're not
afraid of it. Will deliver long, pedantic, and highly dubious
lecture on subjective relativism and its role in gender
psychology upon request. |
Meh. I don't really stand behind what I've already said. |
Girls just want to have fun, I thought. So [+]. |
[Alterother] I would love to hear it! You can email me a xandram at msn dot com |
Adverse to what I previously said, I think peace
movements are good even if they are inert, because an
inert mass is better than a jingoistic mass, such as those
that charcterized most countries in the last centuries. |
What meme are you referring to in this case? |
I have to agree. Even the most sophisticated ideology can
be reduced down to some really stupid mantra or maxim.
It's really on the level of stupid maxims that political
debate should really take place, not on heavily
extrapolated arguments. |
Well even 'social' is just materially situated ethos. At first
situated in industrial society, and now in the very
electronic products of advanced industry. All this ethea
that was formerly "spirit", is now equivalent to the former
materiality of being that once possessed it, or was
possessed by it. It all, we all, takes place as spirit in
machines, and memes really do have a sort of
equivalency to genes in such a revolutionized system. |
What once was tribal was genetic, now memetic. For
example all who identify with some constructed social
signifier. For example the stupidest lot of 'friends', I don't
have any friends so I can't be friends. Well I do, but none
of my friends have friends. If you don't think 'friends' is a
meme, you've erred. 'Friends' is the most popular meme,
and as an idea it's used to signify the most basic behaviour
of the
capitalized social. A new hb idea proceeds momentarily. |
[xandram], I'll forward it as soon as I write it. I didn't
actually have anything prepared, just some vaguely-
formed thoughts on the subject. |
//Meh. I don't really stand behind what I've already said. |
You don't really have the option, as the sound waves of you speaking emanate from you in a forward direction, so you are standing behind them, unless you are a master of ninja ventriloquism. |
When I speak, I only speak very softly while running against high wind, so that the other party must draft behind me as if running heats of 1500m. |
Do you carry a big stick when you speak, [rcarty], in
case you have to ensure people take the time to
listen? |
