Wintry southern Christmas

Make it fairer

When it's winter in your northern hemisphere, it is correspondingly summer in the southern one.

This seems unfair, as the iconography of Christmas is predicated on the typical cold, snowy winter scene in the north.

To rectify this, we suggest that - by international agreement - at a chosen solstice, by means of basic tractor and pressor beams, and temporary local alteration of the value of the gravitational constant G, your planet's orbital inclination is tipped through 14.31 degrees. This will mean that both hemispheres will get an immediate repeat of the season they just experienced, but more importantly the southern one will now get winter in December, not June.

After a few years, the process can be repeated and the north gets the cold winters in December again.

Missing a few bolts, Borg ? Winterizing the southern hemisphere will summerize the northern.

Yes, we did mention that // both hemispheres will get an immediate repeat of the season they just experienced //.

//Make it fairer// For goodness' sake, you're Borg, are you not? The geometry of Earth was already well-understood when they built Australia, so frankly it's their own fault.

Ah, but we spy an upcoming business opportunity when the pole reversal happens ...
