Windows Snap-To

 When I have several programs running, and I want to use one as a reference for the other...

When I have several programs running, and I want to use one as a reference for the other, it means I have 2 options.

1) Switch between them in the taskbar a whole lot

or 2) Try to align them myself on the screen.

If, when dragging a window around, you had an option to 'snap to' the edges of the screen, and other menus, you could easily make a quick alignment. Same thing with resizing.

This would have made my day yesterday.

       Macs don't... but it would be an interesting function.   

       What you might try is using "alt-tab" to switch between applications. Not a perfect solution, but faster than mousing down to the taskbar!

       I'm not much of a computer guy but I just tried this and I think it is what you wanted.   

       Open however many windows you want. Then go into the taskbar at the bottom and right click. Ther is an option to tile vertically or horizonally. Is that close?

       One of my friends sits at his comp with three viewable screens, they all have diff info on them wich he uses to play games, do work or...reference.

       Yeah, what [NotTheSharpestSpoon] said. Minimize all the other windows but the ones you want, right-click in the taskbar and select a tile option.   

       Or use Alt+Escape to switch between windows. If you hold down the Alt key with your left thumb, you can tap Escape with a finger and cycle through windows fast enough to get persistence of vision.
