Everybody knows the names of famous actors in movies, but
there are stars behind the scenes that aren't human. I'm
talking of course about stock sound effects.
A famous one is the Wilhelm scream (see link) but there are
hundred of others. With this app, you simply watch the
movie
while
sounds are sensed and cross referenced to the sound
effects catalog same as with music finding apps.
When a standard sound effect is detected, the screen will
light up with, for instance "Wilhelm scream" and show a
Wikipedia style page with all the movies it's been featured
in,
the story behind it and of course a button that you can hit
that plays it.
A pretty famous one

If a scream can be a star, well here it is.

What you're looking for there is a cinephile. I knew a
couple of movie geeks who could list the Wilhelm Scream
by title and time. |

What I always seem to pick up on are movies that
borrow sounds from video games. The 'Doom' door
opening one is always particularly popular. |
