Representatives of struggling villages from the remotest parts of the globe are invited to compete on a multiple choice format quiz show for fabulous prizes, including crop seeds, livestock, clean drinking water, lifesaving drugs, and so on. For the grand prize, the producers arrange for a paved landing strip to built near the village, and schedule regular supply deliveries for ten years.

Contestants in trouble can use one of their three “lifelines”: A glass of water, a bowl of rice, or a dose of quinine.

Would tend to make fashion shows a bit boring.

They can have Ibaraki Airport, $243 million to build and a whole 5 outgoing flights a day...

They'll have to collect it, mind you. Ditto Wakkanai airport with 2 regular flights a day, more when the snow melts...

//Ibaraki Airport, $243 million to build and a whole 5 outgoing flights a day// To be honest, if they can build any airport for $243 million, I'm not sure I'd trust it to have all those little details like air traffic control and baggage handling. Are you sure your m shouldn't be a b?

I'm trying to remember the four things that don't do a pilot any good. They are " a runway behind you, altitude above you, airspeed you don't have and" there I forget.

The village then becomes a sweat shop making fashion knockoffs designed by the winners of Project Runway ?

That's the way it usually goes, yes.

"For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath." (Mark 4:25).

Think about that, when you're taking delivery of your third Lamborghini.

// air in your fuel tanks //

"the runway behind you, the altitude above you, airspeed you don't have, and the fuel in the bowser".
