Black tattoo ink is not visible against black skin. Therefore I recommend to use white ink against black skin.
Or use mine.

It's common, perhaps not WKTE. I've got a friend with white wings on her back. |

Perhaps a cardboard wheel with all possible skin colors around the outside. And a series of high contrast ink colors inside. Put the wheel next to the area to be tattooed. Turn it until it matches. |
