Like a glove with small coasters, so that one can write in any direction with minimal smudges.

This small wrist strap acts like a miniature scaffold on wheels for your writing hand. It comfortably elevates your hand from the writing surface so that any ink, charcoal, or chalk remains as intended.

Lean and write on a dry wipe board without concern.
Write birthday cards knowing that you are safe from blurring that intimate message.
Write with foutain pen using your left hand without worrying about smudges.

Surely you'll just end up with tiny tire tracks all over your work?
Mind you, that would be far cooler than dull ol' normal smudges.

Is that an advocation for "Hover-Glove"?

I just tried this with my hand resting on pens that were in turn riding on a few batteries, egyptian-stone-transport style. It works well, and if the batteries are perpendicular to the line, it helps writing straight, too. [+]

Edit: Aside: The mahlstick seems to be an anglicised version of the german 'Malstock', although 'mahlstock' was an implement for the milling stone, so why the english shoul insert an 'h' into their version is beyond me. Possibly because of the strong french influences, to not title it a 'bad stick'?
