Water duvet

Like a waterbed, but a duvet.

Cool in summer, warm in winter (if plumbed in to your central heating) the water duvet has multiple water-filled cells to prevent the water just going to the edges and has a comforting heaviness.

Cooling Quilt http://www.halfbake...dea/Cooling_20quilt
I googled but it led me back to the HB! [FarmerJohn, Oct 17 2002, last modified Oct 04 2004]

How thick we talking? I like the concept, but I get nervous when a blanket is too heavy. (+'s: It would conform to the body, which is good, maybe difficult for cover stealers to steal, which is good, and probably not likely to fall on the floor in the middle of the night, which is very good.)

I came up with a similar idea but it turned out to be Baked so I deleted the thread. Google should turn up some links.

I would love just the cold version in summer... not sure about having it connected to my central heating though -sometimes it gets a bit cold and the boiler decides to take the day off...

Water filled cells I like. I could just wear it around all summer if it wasn't plumbed in. How about water filled clothing with a tiny water cooler that sits on your head.

Yipes. A heated plastic duvet that's fluid and heavy enough to cling to you? Sounds sweaty.

(sigh) I think [farmer] eventually found the exit door.
