For a reasonable fee, our evil biogeneticists will create a custom virus for you; highly contagious but with no noticable symptoms or side effects (as far as we know); its purpose is to insert a coded DNA segment into the genes of every person it infects. This DNA segment may contain any digitally encoded message you like; plain text, HTML, .gif, flash files, or any other format (up to a certain size). Have your company's brand emblazoned forever on the DNA of every living human being within 3-6 years!

Of course, having your ad embedded in everyone's DNA is only marginally satisfying if nobody can actually see it, so for our 2nd generation we will be working on codes to have your ad displayed on the skin of infected users. (Note: due to biological limitations, all animations will play back on the skin no faster than 1 frame per hour)

So who do I need to sleep with to get the plug-in?

       Commander: "What is this, Zurg?"
First Officer Zurg: "The Glaxican Staple of Zandar, with the power to fix the Paper of Planderous, the most powerful paper attacher in the Universe."

Is that a sci fi staple too?

Adding [evil biogeneticists] to my "people to kill" list.

I'd like the display on other people to read: "Get Your Freebies"

       Hurray, even more advertising...
StarChaser, Mar 21 2002

Actually, I'm hoping the Get Your Freebies site is long gone by then.

Many would compare advertisers to skin diseases/blemishes already.
