Ah, you've discovered the twin terrors of verbosity! |
one word - filter, oh thats 3. what *has* got into people today. |
[po] Thanks, but I prefer instant. What's coffee got to do with this anyway? |
check out view <<<< to your left and filter out anyone you like. coffee? white, no sugar. |
I don't want to filter out anybody nor do I want them to be more concise. All I want is to be able to scroll the the bottom faster, when the need arises. i.e. When annotating a Vernon idea...
[po]Sorry all out of white sugar. Will brown do? |
Just push in the scroll wheel, and move the mouse towards the bottom of the page... This allows control of scrolling to a greater degree than your proposed button. |
[MikeOliver] I had forgotten about that functionality, but I would still prefer it to be done my way. I prefer the ability to use the scroll-wheel as it takes less effort, and is more controllable. |
there is a keyboard shortcut, but I forget. "page top" at the bottom of the page will take you straight back to the top. |
yes but you are a ....hmmmm genie (is that the word I am struggling for?) |
[silverstormer] I disagree, the already existing option mentioned by MikeOliver takes less effort and is more controllable in my opinion. |
As you admitted yourself that you can already achieve this by going through the control panel, that pretty much leaves this as just a rant. I enjoy some of the ideas posted by said perpetrators, which is more than I can say about this one. |
Once again, this is not intended as a rant. I don't believe it comes across as one either, if that is how you interpret it, then that is your decision.
I have much admiration for the likes of [Vernon], who take the time to explain their ideas properly. I am just lazy and looking for ways to further my efficiency of HB browsing. |

If you are using a Micro$oft based mouse you can install the latest Intellipoint drivers. They have a nice acceleration function for the scroll wheel. |
The faster you scroll the greater the number of lines it scrolls at a time. This gives you the speed you require, without hampering your fine control. |
Alternately you could simply get a newer mouse with more than the standard 2+1 button configuration and assign this function to one of the extra buttons. |
For the last time this is not a rant! I'll thank you very much [UB] |
What you need is a tweaker wheel to adjust the sensitivity of the scroll wheel |
have you never thought about using "home" and "end"? |
i'm guessing you use a laptop so the buttons are even closer together than the buttons on a normal keyboard. or before the scroll wheel on a mouse was invented you could drag the scroll bar, many possibilities Silverstormer. |

(this idea has been dormant for three years, btw) |

i've only just established myself on this site. |
