Compact, handheld vacuum cleaners are proliferating in the market place.
Vacuum cleaners are really just a ducted fan.
Hairdryers are really just a ducted fan with heating elements in the airflow.
It is therefore obvious that one device can be designed to perform both functions.
The new BorgCo
VacuDryer is a lightweight, compact unit which can change modes at the flick of a switch.
In "blow" mode, it can provide anything from a gentle waft of warm air to a violent jet hot enough to strip gloss paint.
In "suck" mode, it's a handy little cleaner, supplied with a useful range of brushes and nozzles.

I immediately pictured a kind of helmet with rubber seals around the vital orifices which then exposed the bulk of the user's scalp to a partial vacuum, causing the water in their hair to boil away. May have some side effects. |

Where's the waste container going? If you put it between
the inlet and the fan it works like most vacuum cleaners,
when you switch the flow your hair is going to get covered
in crap. Also, aren't vacuum cleaners a centrifugal impeller
design that doesn't work in reverse? |

There's a set of electrically actuated diverting baffles in the air path. |
