Mowing my tender lawn I think of all the animals on the farm who would love this. What we need here in the city is the Urban Shepherd. Someone who tends a very small herd of kid friendly sheep and takes them from lawn to lawn. He/she would operate much the same as lawn services but they might need one block at a time to sign up instead of just one lawn.

Bonus: If it doesn't work out there are a lot of barbeques around.

Bonus: You might also find a small supply of fertiliser in your garden after each visit...

They have these in Germany. The council pays wandering herdsmen to take their sheep to graze common land and meadows. It's just a hop. skip and jump to doing the same for gardens I suppose. Only problem is, how do you stop them eating the plants that you want to keep??

No 1 son, aged 5, tells me he wants to be a shepherd. I say, how wonderful son, I am so proud of you but why? I want to wear a badge, ride a horse, drink beer and shoot the baddies.

Receiving the Freedom of London gives you the right to drive your sheep across certain London bridges, amongst other things.

//Does your sheep have left-hand drive, or right-hand?// can some one tell me why that sounds grammatically awfuk?
po, Jun 04 2003

<grin> sheep don't drive, they just run about all over the place looking for grass.
