There are still some electronic devices in my home that have reasonably logical designs. This is clearly inconsistent.

There are plenty of video players, remote controllers, CD players, radios and so on that manage to hide the power buttons, remove the eject button from the tray area, misplace the play button so that it is not between reverse and forward and create new number layouts, so why can't the rest do it too?

A special design school could assist those designers who just don't have the ability to think up different designs, like the rest.

Excellent idea. I know that I still have devices around the house that I can figure out how to use. This must be stopped.

The Apple iPhone is a step in the right direction.

//Logic, artistic layout or practical design won't be that important in future.//

They aren't now - what's important is marketability and profitability; design and engineering only exist to support those ideals.

Have you been keeping company with our industrial designer again?
