The newest fashion trend for jeans is the “ultra-high” look. These are jeans whose waistband rides high around your shoulders. You stick your arms out through openings in the sides. The jeans feature a daring 20-inch zipper. (see link)

I’m not good at drawing, but this diagram should give you a pretty good idea of what I mean. [AO, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Um...in what way are you not describing denim overalls? http://www.rmconnection.com/Dickies.htm
Widely Baked, methinks. [DrCurry, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

       Hmm. Overalls.
bristolz, Apr 10 2003

sexy off the shoulder top - very chic, combined with casual blue denim jeans. all it needs is long drop diamante ear-rings, tiara to match and Dr Marten boots and your summer wardrobe is complete.

They are not overalls. They have no shoulder straps and the fly extends all the way up the front.
AO, Apr 10 2003

I too, thought "overalls". But, looking at the picture they seem just different enough to appeal to some. I don't think I'm going to jump on the bandwagon though as the "sexy off the shoulder" thing loses something when I try it.

I think you'd have been better off to go with the "okay they're overalls" defense.
waugsqueke, Apr 10 2003

[half] could you manage the ear-rings, just the once? for me?
po, Apr 10 2003

       [po]: What, again?!

       sssshhh people are listening.

Shoot! I had this egZACT idea some months ago!

Is that the same as dungerees?

I’ve beat you with the mega-high-rise. These are jeans with a single hole for your head. Arms, who needs ‘em?

       Armies?

       Methinks:
1) If indeed they are as illustrated, there's nothing to keep them up, save for a very tight fit at the corner of the shoulder (ouch).
2) Given their design, the UHRSH Jeans severely limit arm movement.
3) Overalls seem to be the ergonomically corrected version of this invention.

C'mon, guys, look at the picture. They're not overalls. Consider speedos and briefs - they perform the same function and look similar, but they're not the same.

I could see this appealing to certain people (choosing words carefully so as not to appear old). Would probably be easier to wear if they were made as a close fitting body hugger.

Not sexy enough. Make it backless.
FloridaManatee, Apr 11 2003

Totally cute picture ^_^ That alone is worth a flaky, buttery croissant.
phundug, Apr 11 2003

An excellent antithesis to the current phase of jeans so low you need a bikini wax to wear them. (Which I was just getting used to.)
grecosartre, Apr 11 2003

Agree. The illustration is great. Especially the dainty footwear.
