I was considering how one might make pants out of a tumbleweed. They are unruly entities, these weeds: not easy to work with - probably less so than most large, dried out plants which in general are hard to use for clothing manufacture or other artistic endeavors requiring a conformational change to
something other than mulch.
The pants mold would consist of a metal outer clamsell in the shape of pants (or shorts!) with an attached cage. The weed is placed within. The cage (of something like chickenwire) is then cranked down until the weed is compressed to pants shape. The interior piece is placed centrally within the compressed weed and then the outer clamshell is closed. The inner piece is then opened to exclude weed from a pants-like inner shape.
The weed is then steamed and then dried within the shell. On opening: walla! Pants! Or Shorts!
Note: this process should work with other large weeds, loose agricultural waste, shredded posters or any other substrate with a hoped-for destiny as pants (or shorts!)
Be flattered, [bungston], by association...

Tumbleweeds burn very hot, and very fast. One-Eyed Willy and the Boys are in for a rough night if your pants get close to a source of ignition. Bun for the dance you'll invent when that happens [+]. |
