Tria laser hair prep gel

 a gel that dyes hair with transparent yet IR absorptive dye. That way people with light hair can zap off hair with a laser.

I read about something called the Tria personal hair removing laser. They are near $60 on ebay. It is easier to remove dark hair.

I thought that a gel that dyed hair with a transparent IR absorptive dye could make hair easier to remove without unsightly visible dye.

Actually, there was another reason to put this idea up. I found a site that is actively seeking new inventions in the consumer products category, and thought halfbakers might be interested. [link] I do not have any connection to it. If this is something terrible like spam, just let me know and I will remove the idea.

       Surely you'd want the base of the hair to be IR absorbing, since that's where the heat is needed? A dye would (I think) only affect the outer part, which is the opposite of what's needed.

       perhaps taking a shower first, letting the stuff dry in and perhaps some DMSO could work, but then you might be making the skin absorptive as well

       Never, ever let anyone put DMSO on your skin. If they do, flush the area with running, clean water for a good five minutes and make sure no other chemicals come into contact with the affected area. Seek medical assistance.
