TrebucheMe is an amusement park activity. It consists of a large trebuchet with a scoop-style projectile holder, a large geodesic ball with velcro 'hook' fabric around its entire outer surface and a huge velcro 'loop' fabric grid wall which is freestanding.
The wall is supported by a rigid frame,
and is tensioned with bungee-style elastic material. It has a curved profile, with the target area vertical, sloping down to a horizontal exit pad.
You are strapped inside the geodesic ball with a harness. You are then loaded into the trebuchet. When it is released, you fly through the air and stick to the wall. Because of the bungee-nature of the wall, you bounce a while back and forth. The velcro material holds you there, until ride operators with long hooked poles reach up and pull you off the wall and down to the exit area.
Note: Not to be confused with "Tres Buschemi, The Ultimate Steve Buschemi 3D Experience".

Heh, yeah, I played Tres Buschemi once. An enormous letdown, he didn't even do the voice acting. |

Anyway, the actual idea sounds fun! |

Think this has been done already - see [link] |

That's why I thought of the enclosed ball idea. Using any sort of whip-type release would be out of the question too. |

This reminds me of the velcro wall
skit on Letterman. Dave would don
a suit of velcro hook fabric, run,
jump off a trampoline, and fling
himself at a tensioned/cushioned
wall of velco loop fabric and stick. |

I think some other adrenaline deficient halfbaker might have already got to this one, as I wanted to do it too. Excellent follow thru on the concept, though. |
