Airlines make quite a bit of money on air cargo, and at the
same time, some of them offer your first checked bag for
free. Proposed is a grassroots package transportation
system
where flyers would match up with parcel customers. The
deliveries would be from airport-to-airport. (This would
have
obvious issues regarding TSA regulations, but I don't think
they're insurmountable. Maybe the packages wouldn't stay
closed? You wouldn't want to transport drugs or weapons for
some random stranger.)

This is called counter-to-counter shipping and is widely
known to exist, not to mention highly regulated.
Attempting such a thing privately in order to take
advantage of the free baggage allowance for passengers
would likely result in serious felony charges. |

Ahhh, boring....but then remembers when Olive on Pushing Daisies narrowly escapes discovery as a mule for homeopathic drugs...so maybe there's a moral there... |
