Instead of wearing in a muddy trail, or putting down cement, walk above a path of undisturbed grass or flowers every day you leave your house.
Each tile is heavy-duty clear acrylic to let sunlight in, and stands up on four 2" legs. Each leg has long radial "chicken feet" on the bottom so it won't
sink into the earth. Tiles can be moved for mowing, and are rimmed with white for visibility so nobody will trip over them.

They have grass pavers for driveways that allow grass to grow but still supports the weight of cars. Not quite the same thing and probably aren't tall enough for flowers. I suppose you could make tham extra tall and clear to cover the height of whatever plants you want to grow and still see through them. (link) |

Odd, I thought someone had already suggested this, perhaps with glass tiles, but I can't find it now. Anyway, grass + |

I suppose if you cover a whole flowerbed you have yourself a mini greenhouse, which you can walk on and when the need arises, disassemble. |
