“Why do you hate ironing so much Gustaf?”- “Because it’s so boring, and besides, it’s not the sort of work that a man with an engineer’s hands should do.” “ That’s sexist nonsense - I love ironing - you should get yourself a Traction Iron like me, and start enjoying yourself”

Gustaf’s eyes widened with delight as Stefan raised the Traction Iron from its special heat resistant box, running his hand over its polished wooden handle.

“It only takes about ten minutes to fire up the boiler and get a head of steam.” Just after Stefan completed some final adjustments, the traction engine spluttered confidently into life, its fly wheel spinning rapidly as the twin pistons emitted a pleasant rattle, not unlike a busy sewing machine.

“Notice how the divided rollers avoid crunching the buttons.... and if you are really lazy you can even operate it with this remote, though I prefer the Hands On option.”

With dexterous efficiency, Stefan manoeuvred the heavy little engine over the crumpled shirt, its heated rollers easily smoothing out every crease and wrinkle.

“Can I have a go now?” exclaimed Gustaf, with unconcealed delight “This is starting to look like man’s work after all.”

haha! this idea has far reaching potential.. imagine the masculinisation of all domestic appliances, 2-stroke radio controlled racing vacuum cleaners, turbo charged washing machines etc

(+) Tank version for military cadets?

This is fantastic! Girls, pay attention; its the only way you are ever going to get your guys to actually want to iron the clothes.

As a guy, I must say, I've always been unhapply with the idea of combining water, heat, and electricity into a handheld device just to have nice looking clothes.

This device probably won't work any better than other irons, but at least you've managed to remove the risk of electrical shock from the equation.

i actually use irons to melt plastic shopping bags together to make kites and things. they work pretty well in that regard, but i wouldn't want to use them for clothing afterward.

I've never ironed anything really, but I can see how that might change.
