Baffled by not knowing how much to tighten that 3/8th Whitworth, like they were in Fukushima, just call Torque Torque (premium line service) and they'll give you the specs!

Will no doubt end up with mini-series reality show and preferably a bit with Jeremy Clarkson lured inside the sarcophagus in Chernobyl to do up a lot of bolts......

Funny - I knew a D&D charactor once named Tork. He was a half orc, dumber than a bag of hammers. [normzone, May 23 2014]

       I think I'm missing some inside joke.

       Anyway, are tightening requirements ever printed onto the head of a bolt?
xaviergisz, May 23 2014

       Weird, must have deleted me own anno..

       //'m missing some inside joke.

       No, you're just thinking you're missing the inside joke..

       On the upside by having this title I get to have some reasonably high quality on-hold music, see - life's what you make it....
not_morrison_rm, May 23 2014

       Torque is cheap. Why not have it twice.
AusCan531, May 23 2014

       Thinking it might be helpful to have some kind of roadshow, going out to more provincial areas to give advice on fasteners and their tightening limits.

       I'm sure it would be the torque of the town.
not_morrison_rm, May 23 2014

       Careless torque costs lives.
pocmloc, May 23 2014

       People say I torque funny.
the porpoise, May 23 2014

       The strange thing is that I've only stripped threads through setting a torque wrench to the wrong setting, and never by feel...Torque wrenches are like GPS navigation systems.
Ling, May 23 2014

       //Careless torque costs lives//

       I'd like that in tiny writing on my car wheels one day...

       //Careless torque costs lives.//

       That is probably the best annotation I have read here for some weeks.
MaxwellBuchanan, May 23 2014

       What is going on in here? What has happened to you all? This has spiraled into insanity.
blissmiss, May 23 2014

       A spiral indicates some level of control and repeatability. I think it took a hard left and slid off the highway of common sense into the ditch of wordplay, splashing puns and worse in all directions.

       Just tor qued about it.
normzone, May 23 2014

       What's wrong with spirals of insanity?

       Carbon neutral and non-fattening, what could be better.
not_morrison_rm, May 23 2014

       //Torque wrenches are like GPS navigation systems.//

       Just tried this. Ended up in Torquay. But I don't want to go to Torquay. Now it has me going around in spiralling circles and I feel screwed.
AusCan531, May 23 2014

       That must have been a wrench, for a nut like you … did you lose the thread ?
8th of 7, May 24 2014

       //for a nut like you//

       Washer mouth out.
AusCan531, May 24 2014

       This idea is on a road to nowhere with all these references to torquing heads.
Ling, May 24 2014

       Torque therapy?
Wrongfellow, May 24 2014

       Hell in a hand basket, this idea is. Go ahead, torque amoungst yourselves, if you must.

       Of whom the Grand Inquisitor was Tomas de Torquemada...

       Am I the only person to know this, did I read too many 2000AD's in my yoof...
not_morrison_rm, May 24 2014

       Well this isn't about toques at all...

       //I read too many 2000AD's //

       Hey, U can read ? Who knew ...
8th of 7, May 24 2014

       Wouldn't 2000BC be more appropriate for wearing a torc?
pocmloc, May 24 2014

       //Hey, U can read ? Who knew

       Nahh, I just look at the pictures.

       I was re-reading Neuromancer yesterday and one character is called Corto, so if you rearrange that you get torCo, which is presumably torc in Spanish.

       It all means something.
not_morrison_rm, May 24 2014

       If you had spares, you could carefully increase torque until failure, then apply a correction factor.
spidermother, May 25 2014

       Beware of slipshod French political thinkers - as careless Tocqueville cost lives.

       I win :-)
not_morrison_rm, May 25 2014

       The measure of how tightly one's head is screwed on - toque torque.
FlyingToaster, May 25 2014

       ok, you get the last word and pocmloc had the best saying..
not_morrison_rm, May 26 2014

       [2fries], you may be one toque over the line.
