Top Tens

A "WIBNI" and a "Let's All" rolled into one hopefully not MFD-able idea.

Sometimes when you click on fellow Halfbakers' profile pages, the volume of ideas can be intimidating and make a person, (read, me) not be arsed to wade into all of them in order to sort the wheat from the chaff.
If said Halfbakers were to sort their own top ten, (or so) favorite ideas and indicate these favorites on their profile pages it would give the rest of us a starting point if we cared to delve.

I am going to do so.
I hope at least some of y'all will as well because I think that it will not only churn some older gems, but let us better understand where each of us is coming from.

Oolong-etc - please http://www.halfbakery.com/user/zen_5ftom
Click on the Oolong idea under [Zen_Tom]'s profile... [theleopard, Aug 08 2007]

I like the idea - and I recognise your observation too. I might try this [+]

how would you do that? put an asterisk in front of the title?
po, Jul 11 2007

I have all of my ideas ranked by votes in a view. Of course I'm not bothered by votes at all...
wagster, Jul 11 2007

Example top ten (which I'll probably change my mind about tomorrow) on my profile page.
hippo, Jul 11 2007

Sounds like a great idea, for when one has some free time...+
xandram, Jul 11 2007

All my ideas are BEST ideas!

Well except the Decancerator, it's just shite.
Galbinus_Caeli, Jul 11 2007

Maybe I'll do a list of 'ideas I care the most about,' especially since the great crash rendered the voting system a little crippled.
RayfordSteele, Jul 11 2007

Good point [RF] - that's what my list is, I suppose.
hippo, Jul 11 2007

[po] I just thought to list them on the profile page.
[hippo] where did all of your ideas go?

Good idea, I think I'll do so. [+]
acurafan07, Jul 12 2007

Or do like I do, and edit the crap ideas out before you post them in the first place.
oxen crossing, Jul 12 2007

No no, even if you've never conceived a bad idea, yet have a couple hundred of them, I'd still want to see "Your" favorite ten or so before tackling the rest.

       See?

[2 fries] What do you mean? - Ah, unless you mean the way the long URL or my top 10 has pushed the list of ideas of the right hand side of the screen. I don't get that problem because I view it in 'lr' mode: halfbakery.com/lr/user/hippo
hippo, Jul 12 2007

[hippo] what a wide profile you have :)
po, Jul 12 2007

Hmm - does my profile look big in this?
hippo, Jul 12 2007

[hippo] You might want to try www.tinyurl.com

I added one to my page. Nice Idea [2fries] [+]

       that page is awesome [G_C]!
bleh, Jul 12 2007

In the spirit of "Let's All", I too have added a personal top ten to my profile. I was rather disappointed how hard it was to find ten good ideas.
wagster, Jul 12 2007

       At least you found ten...
Jinbish, Jul 12 2007

I've added my top TENS to my profile... but there's only one of it.
TheLightsAreOnBut, Jul 12 2007

Well, in the spirit of editedOoolongftangf tangeditedbank, I'll get around to it someday.
normzone, Jul 13 2007

       I've always wondered about that...
po, Jul 14 2007

Added mine too, though it makes up a quarter of all my ideas anyway. Will change to [z_t]´s tinyurl thing when I get a chance...
theleopard, Jul 23 2007

<Pssst> Normzone, you're the only person on the site to have mentioned the great Oolong-etc in its full unedited form, thus warping its integral use as a search function. You are a very naughty boy... </pssst>
theleopard, Aug 08 2007

       So, what is Oolongftangftangbank
vincevincevince, Aug 08 2007

Damn it [vince]! Guhh, see <linky>...

       Done. Thanks!
pashute, Aug 25 2011

Due to the juxtapositioning of this idea on the "Recent" list, I read this as "Pop tens", and was disappointed to find that it is not a method for using a TENS machine set to 11 to pop popcorn.
MaxwellBuchanan, Aug 25 2011

I have atoned for my sin as referenced above - [vincevincevince] you're up.

I will go see if I can find ten worthy of note.

I just found this idea and I'm not sure whether you meant I should list my ten favorite ideas of my own or my ten favorite ideas posted by others. Luckily, I'd already started both lists! (Each only has one idea so far, though.)

ETA: I've filled out my top-ten list of my own ideas, in case that's what you wanted. Check it out on my profile page.

tsk-tsk An obvious ploy for more buns... here's mine

I made a "best of me" about 5-6 years ago; the view link is on my account page, half-way down the left side - "A Small Portfolio Gallery". About 60 ideas.
FlyingToaster, Feb 11 2018

How did you whittle it down to so few ?

We presume your self-effacing personal modesty was a considerable aid in your challenging endeavour.

// Each only has one idea so far, though. //

Well, the list of your own good ideas is going to struggle to make it beyond that.
