I agree this is a halfbaked idea. |
Does the requisite kind of glue exist? |
Uhu, being the only glue you'll be able to pronounce when wearing the pick |
Make it with chewing gum and some sort of harder natural rubber formation inside that can be manipulated and edible. |
I don't think it would be too difficult to find an alcohol-soluble, non-toxic adhesive. |
[one quick google later: polyamide resin andor what [calum] said - Uhu] |
It could clip on with a spring-loaded grip. |
Is polyamide really soluble in alcohol? Isn't that the
primary ingredient in flex circuits that are generally
washed in alcohol to get rid of flux? |
I really have no clue: I assume that there's an adhesive that is non-toxic and soluble in ethyl alcohol, and a quick Google turned that up. |
It would probably taste like crap so would need to be flavoured in strawberry. |
//spring-loaded grip// That was the original plan, but I think people would spend less time flossing and more time going "owowowowowgetitoffgetitoff". With glue you would probably just have to dry the tongue a bit (by breathing in a certain manner), remove the protective strip from the glue on the pick and apply it to the tongue: a bit of experimentation would decide the best contact area and sizing. |
Cyanoacrylate glue sticks well to tongues. |
not alcohol soluble.... ah, here we go: |

//Does the requisite kind of glue exist?// |

I'd suggest a simple tongue and groove joint. This idea
would also aid in getting the last olive out of the jar. |
//tongue and groove// ... yes... //joint// uh, now I think
you're on a completely different idea. |
Suction would be enough to hold a tongue pick in place, like a pen lid. |
Finally a way to play the mouth harp with a sharper twang! |
