Works like any other gym treadmill, except this one only has a single piece of wire upon which the user must balance and walk as it moves underfoot.
Beginners will chose "the thick, slightly flattened rope" option, whilst advanced élite users will graduate to a speed walk on a slack piano wire.
Delux
machines come with a selection of projected vertiginous views that move accurately underneath as you step gingerly forward.

A goodie!
Barefoot_20In_20the_20Park_20Treadmill You know, the park is where alot of kids do tightropes, tie 'em between trees and have a go. Should have both settings, maybe? [daseva, May 19 2009]

to have servos sway the cable as a half-mile cable would sway by itself might be hard, but should not be un-doable. with the current fad (at least in germany) for slack-line walking, this might prove a hit. |

[+] I believe a slack rope is easier to walk than a tight one, so your beginners to elite adjustment would be pretty easy - no need to change the rope itself - just move some pulleys. Plus, as the rope gets tighter, you have further to fall :-) |

If this were an attachment to an existing treadmill then an aerial image slowly creeping on the main tread may even induce vertigo. I likey. |

Certainly better than the hot coals treadmill. |

I gotta get one of these! |

I do believe that "jump rope treadmill" and "hot coals treadmill" need to be developed in their own right. |
|
|
I could be wrong - while those two have their own appeal, the inevitable broken glass treadmill would not hold a similar appeal. |

And for the little ones, a hopscotch treadmill. It never ends! |

The servo point is well made, but definitely still doable. Other kinds of treadmills would be far easier to implement and far less inspired. + |

Ok, I take that back some (not the bun). <linky> |

You also need a hitchhiker treadmill. |
