Your James Arness, a policeman in 22 cent. America, assigned to the Thought Police Patrol, an outfit whose job it is to roam the streets and alleys of a depressed city, scanning people for their thoughts against the government.
Armed with a T-130 electo-Scanner, which, when applied to the head of
a suspect, can read his thoughts, and received to be watched on the screen. At first you catch a few criminals, and bring them to justice. Later, though, a young woman comes up to you on the street begging to be helped. Instead you hook her up to the scanner and see things you should not have seen.
When your captain finds out about what you have seen, he sends an army of policeman out to get you and the woman. Together you must make your way out of the city to the Agency, a freedom zone, where the mental pictures of the woman will provide proof of what the government is up to.
Armed with shotguns, laser, and your scanner, you must overcome policeman, armed gangs hired by the state, criminals, and a shadowy man called 'the arch', you may or may not want to harm the woman.

By what economic indicator is America of 2100 valued at 22 cents? |

Not a bad plot for a potboiler, or a first-person shooter. |

The arch should definitely be a babe - slinky, black leather, sort of a gothic cyber neoninja. It turns out, however, that she is actually you - she is your James Arness! - visiting from a future time and trying desperately to prevent an event from happening that will drum repercussions into the mental integrity of the human race. But does she/you succeed? Do you harm the woman, even though you may or may not want to? Can one humble electoscanner, hooked where it was never meant to be hooked, by a bigassed hook, predict the actions of a rogue Supreme Court, set on binging down the Freedom Zone? Do you really need all three shotguns? Because they get heavy. |
