In Victorian times in London, there was a special railway station taking funeral parties to Brookwood cemetery ("Six second-class returns and one single to Brookwood, please"), with special carriages for carrying the coffins. So, I thought, why not have...a roller-coaster funeral. Everyone loves roller-coasters,
so the mourners can have a happier memory of the dear-departed. Simply a funeral to die for.

Good subtitle.
I'd like the hearse at my funeral to go out of control, plough through the crash barriers on the bridge and plunge into the chasm below in a ball of fire. Obviously it could be a remotely operated hearse to save on hearse drivers, but it would be a fitting way to go. |
mine would probably get lost. |
and when Great Uncle Arthur (age 88) comes to the funeral, well.... a double funeral is twice the fun. |
You could have the actual coffin attached to a track. Install a loop over water, body drops out, instant burial at sea. |
It would be vacationland for goth types. |
Somehow I see a cemetery as an excellent addition to Coney Island. |
I hope that name doesn't mean what I think it means. And if it does, then I hope it's metaphorical. |
Or the coffin could make its way into a furnace for a quick and easy cremation |
S'gonna be tough manoeuvring a coffin around that theme park ride queuing system. [Moomintroll] Its a type of dinosaur, isn't it? |
[abs] No, it isn't a dinosaur (that I'm aware of), and yes [moomintroll], it means what you think it does, and yes, it is metaphorical (I hope). |
I don't know, there's a lot of dinosaurs out there. |

You could have it set up like Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory and instead of oompa-loompas you'd have midget undertakers. They'd act out the whole embalming process with your dearly departed or dump them uncerimoniously into the furnace for those preferring cremation. |
I think a water floon type ride would be better. You could just float the coffin amoung with the passenger 'logs'. |
Will there be height and weight restrictions? |
[I'd like to die like my grandfather:Quietly and in my sleep... and not in terror, screaming and thrashing like his other four passengers in his car.] |
//You could have it set up like Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory// Great, now I'm imagining people being dumped into scalding pools of chocolate. |
//Great, now I'm imagining people being dumped into scalding pools of chocolate// And that's...a Bad Thing? |
Just to check, is the idea for the mourners or the coffin (or the both) to get on the roller coaster? 'Cause that will have an impact on whether I post my Flaming Funeral Flume idea. |
