The roots of origami discovered

According to the records origami was invented about 900 BC in the Middle East. Over time the knowledge was passed to the East, probably by traders on the Silk Road.

The earliest written account of origami comes from Biblical times, the Assyrian Siege of Jerusalem (dated 701 BC) .

This is where Byron, a keen student of origami, got his inspiration for "The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold".

Regrettably, the original "Wolf" fold has been lost over centuries, but further excavations may yet come to light.

Not a lot of people know that.
