Buy an auto painter from your hardware shop cover the floor
and anything you don't want painted leave the room and let it
do the work for you.
The auto painter is like an indoor computerised sprinkler, you
download the dimensions of the desired room into the auto
painter and fill its resivior
with the appropriate amount and
colour of paint, the auto painter then sprays the paint around
the room at varying heights and pressures to make sure that
an even coat is achieved throughout the room. You can even
programme it to do an undercoat first and then time it so that
as soon as the undercoat has dried the main coat goes on
straight afterwards.
You may never have to bother spending a day painting a room
ever again.
the only reference I could find...

Does a really poor job on the trim, though. |

Art-A-Matic circa 1970 (3rd reference to Art-A-Matic in halfbakery by my elf & only 3 on 'net, apparently.) |

This becomes quite complex fairly quickly. In Silly Towers where the mansion expansion has all but finished, very few of the rooms are square - most have little nooks and crannies that are not visible from the centre of the room. Therefore your autopainter would have to move round - distinguish wood from plaster, know where the radiators were and how high they came up, fill holes in walls, ... |

|
Also, I quite like painting rooms - just as well really. Now, if only we could have an auto-sander to do all that boring preparation work first. |
|
|
Also, what the hell is a //resivior// - do you mean reservoir? |
|
|
A resivior is a sivior who sives you, if you've been a backsliver. |

Just buy one of the computer controlled robots that spray cars in factories. |

I was into the third line of the second paragraph before I realized this wasn't about painting autos. I'd thought that this might be a good idea at the mall for when I lose mine, I'd just find one that looked like mine. And if the color didn't match, well, I'd just use this auto painter. <wanders off, looking around, car keys in hand> |

Could work in conjunction with a wall-crawling robot, attached to the paint/power supply by an umbillical. |

Ah. I was hoping this was a like a car wash with paint instead of water, for those days when you're sick and tired of trying to find your silver car in the mall lot. |
