like catching mice...

That's it! No more security alarms, 2000 locks and sensors when you want to leave your home. Back to old fashion...An area the size of a carpet that is about 5-10 inches full of special super glue, which you place on your hallway, so when the next thief tries to walk in, he's automatically stuck on it(after he falls flat on his back!). Like catching mice!

Glue Traps. Get the kind that fold into a box shape, if you're as clumsy as I am. http://www.pestcont...r-mouse-glue-traps/
They work like magic. But they aren't magic. [Amos Kito, Oct 04 2004, last modified May 07 2013]

       This won't stop carpet thieves.

I disagree that it's magic. Although glue traps aren't "5-10 inches full" as described in the idea, they hold fast. I've accidentally stepped on a glue trap, and then spent an hour separating the trap from my shoe. Good thing it wasn't fastened to the floor.

But I wouldn't glue thieves. Mud is much better for this purpose, 20-30" deep, uniformly spread throughout the house. Mud, not custard. I hate the smell of thieves rotting in my custard.

It's stupid! What if you forget it's there and tread on it? Then you're buggered aren't you? Cann the firemen "Hey a little help here, I'm stuck to my floor rug!"

Sorry I meant call not cann!

Hm, you're right, Amos. I still think the author doesn't quite know how to make non-evaporating glue strong enough to hold a person after very short contact, but I agree that it's possible.

Daemonicbreeze, just fix the typo--click on [edit] next to your annotation, edit the text, click OK.
