Ramen noodles are a great value at a buck a dozen. Slackers also love their simple prep: boil 2 cups water; cook noodles 3 minutes; add spice pack; serve. But even this is too much work. Until today.

The Ramenizer allows Costco quantities of noodle packs to be loaded in a hopper and with the press of a button, a ready-to eat steaming soup bowl is dispensed. The machine automatically opens the Ramen package; seperates the plastic wrap, dried food, and foil seasoning pack; boils the water; cooks the macaroni; opens and adds the seasoning pack; and dispenses lunch with disposable bowl and spoon.

what happens if you accidentally drop something unexpected into it - like a frozen chicken? +

[xenzag] Something would happen, I'm not sure what. No worse than accidentally dropping an unexpected item into a blender or cuisinart.

/Something would happen, I'm not sure what/ The mark of a robust technology. Bread!

I think automatic soup machines exist, though.

I see the sentences; I read the words, but I don't understand any of it.

I want ramen at vending-machine speed (15 seconds max). Figure out how to do that and you'll have a winner.

       From Rahmen-orientated website:

"Cup Noodle vending machines with hot water service, introduced at about the same time as the noodles, also experienced a boom; within a year, the number of such machines in Japan reached 20,000. (This number was second only to that of Coca Cola vending machines. )" (linky)

As usual the Japanese crack it first.
